"Paint With Purpose" is a 5-day Masterclass designed for artists who want to paint with more clarity, intention, and personal connection. We'll explore what drives your creative choices—why you paint what you paint—and how to make your work more impactful, expressive, and uniquely yours.

Learn: 

The "Paint With Purpose" Masterclass is less about learning the rules—and more about deciding when (and why) to break them.
Together we’ll explore how to bring greater purpose and clarity to your work, focusing on:

  • Choosing meaningful subjects that resonate with you
  • Understanding what gives a painting emotional pull and visual strength
  • Developing your own voice and direction as an artist
  • Letting go of "shoulds" and painting with greater freedom
  • Making creative decisions with more confidence and less second-guessing
  • Identifying what’s working (and what’s not) in your finished pieces
  • Honing the why behind each painting—so your work becomes more personal, intentional, and lasting

    This is a chance to step back, reflect, and move forward with renewed creative purpose.

Itinerary:

  • The itinerary is flexible and will be based on students’ needs. Workshop hours are 9:30-4:00 daily
  • Most mornings will be spent working on exercises and sketching outdoors
  • Afternoons will be spent completing paintings from the morning’s exercises, group discussions etc
  • Optional dining out for dinner as a group (at individual's expense)

What’s included:

  • 5 day workshop
  • Painting demonstrations in acrylics and oils 
  • 1:1 tuition from 2 experienced art teachers (myself and wife Kerrie)
  • Morning and afternoon tea, coffee and tea
  • Easels are provided, but if you have a favourite easel, feel free to bring it along :)

Not included

  • Meals and accommodation
  • Art materials

Cancellation Policy: If you buy a class spot and are unable to attend, and if there is a waiting list of students that has formed, we will attempt to offer your spot to the first person on the list. If a replacement can not be found, refunds will not be issued.
