Palm Beach Morning

When I was younger, Palm Beach seemed like the edge of the world. 

There was always that one chair at my friend’s place that no one ever sat in—it had the best view but somehow felt reserved, like it was waiting for a special guest who never arrived. Years later, I’m still painting that empty chair, wondering who ended up sitting in it.
